Cutskills (“Cutskills”, “we”, “us”) provides a Chrome extension that analyzes user-selected job description text and returns a structured skills report. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Summary: We store extracted skills + minimal metadata (such as source URL, job title, timestamps, and usage counters), and we do not store the full raw job description text.

Chrome Web Store “Limited Use”: Cutskills accesses and uses data only to provide the features described in the extension and its listing (skill extraction, history, exports, quotas, and support). We do not sell user data. We do not collect browsing history or track browsing activity in the background.

1) Information we collect

A. Account information

Email address (used for Magic Link authentication and account communication).
Account identifiers (e.g., user ID in our database).

B. Analysis data (skills + metadata)

Important: When you trigger analysis, the selected text is transmitted to our backend (and AI processing providers) to generate the skills report. We do not store the full selected text in our database—only the extracted skills and metadata below.

Extracted technical skills and soft skills.
Metadata related to the analysis flow, such as:

Job title and source URL (if available).
Timestamps.
Plan tier (Free/Starter) and usage/quota counters.

C. Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers. We may store billing status, Stripe customer IDs, and transaction references needed to manage subscriptions.

D. What we do not collect

Browsing history.
Background tracking of pages you visit.
Full page content (unless you explicitly select it and submit it for analysis).
Payment card numbers (handled by Stripe).

2) How we use your information

To provide core features: generating skill reports and maintaining your history.
To manage quotas (e.g., the 100-analysis limit for Starter plans).
To provide support and handle subscription management via Stripe’s customer portal.
To prevent abuse and enforce fair use (rate limiting and quota enforcement).

3) Data retention

We retain extracted skills and metadata while your account is active so you can access your history and exports. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us. We may retain limited records as required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

4) Sharing & service providers

We share data only with essential service providers to operate Cutskills:

Stripe for payments and subscription management (Stripe has its own privacy policy).
AI processing providers to extract skills from the selected text.
Infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting and databases) to run the service.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

5) Security

We use HTTPS to protect data in transit.
Access to stored data is restricted via authentication and authorization controls.
We minimize stored data to what is necessary for the service.

6) Your choices

You can stop using the extension at any time.
You may request deletion of your account data by emailing us from your account email address.
